Tawny-edge Skipper Butterfly (Polites themistocles)
Copyright: Regina Cutter Edwards
The Tawny-edged Skipper is dark brown with a golden orange edging along the upper margin of the forewing. It is an exciting little skipper to see darting through the grass and wildflowers.
The males wait patiently for females in low grassy areas where eggs are commonly laid. If you catch a sight of this fun skipper in your garden, sit back and enjoy the quick darting flight of the Tawny-edged Skipper.
