Oak Tree (Quercus)

The ‘mighty oak’ is just what its name suggests. The oak is a native, broad-leafed deciduous tree with a full range of fabulous fall colors of yellows, oranges, and reds. Some varieties can spiral upward to 100 feet at maturity and spread a dense canopy between 85 to 135 feet wide.
Oaks produce acorns which are an excellent source of food for wildlife. The Pin Oak is a smaller variety that reaches 75 feet high and 40 feet wide. It has a pyramidal growth habit and is a faster-growing oak (12-15 feet over 5-7 years). This tree is dense and twiggy and has a unique branching pattern.
Keep in mind that planting an Oak needs ample room to grow and develop.
