Copyright: Fred Miller
These wonderful deciduous trees can reach a height of 50 to 120 feet. Their leaves are fragrant, sometimes having a root beer scent. They have smooth-edged leaves with three varying shapes; elliptical, 2-lobed, or 3-lobed. Sassafras trees have beautiful fall colors of reds, purples, yellows, and oranges. You may be surprised at how much you will enjoy having this tree in your yard.
