Ruellia (Ruellia spp.)

These hardy perennials are commonly known as Wild Petunias because they resemble Petunias, but they are not related. Ruellia can vary in color from pink, blue, or purple depending on the species. The flowers usually bloom at sunrise and last for only a day but will continuously bloom from late spring to fall. These lovely plants are a wonderful addition to add into prairies and wildflower gardens.
