Pipevine (Aristolochia macrophylla)

A love for butterflies is the reason to invest in these beautiful large heart-shaped leaf plants. This plant is primarily needed in your garden as a host plant to many swallowtails. As you joyfully watch the caterpillars munch away at the large ‘hearts’ you’ll be able to feel as though you are giving the caterpillars all the TLC they need to become gorgeous butterflies.
The leaves develop on old growth so do not cut back in the fall. Spring and summer, sun or partial shade, the small pipe-like flowers will bloom, butterflies will come and you will have ‘Gardens With Wings’.
