Bottlebrush Grass (Hystrix patula)

This ornamental grass is native to the eastern part of North America. It is known for its long bristly flowers that resemble bottle brushes. They can reach up to 10 inches long and are greenish colored. This is a wonderful grass to mass plant in woodland or naturalized areas. It would also add a nice texture to any garden.
