Bleeding Heart (Dicentra)
Copyright: Patty Bigner
The Dicentra is an exceptionally beautiful flower. The bloom of this plant is usually pink and heart-shaped, but the white version with a pink center also known as the bleeding heart is particularly striking.
The flowers bloom in series from the plant’s branch and appear as if they are purposely hung from the branch.
The unique shape and texture of these plants make them the prize of any butterfly garden.
