The summer-blooming Gaillardia requires very little care. This drought-tolerant, heat-loving plant will flourish without fertilizer or regular watering. It lasts quite a long time as a cut flower as well.
The flower of the Gaillardia can be single color or bi-color, and often looks like a fiery sunburst of red and gold. They thrive in meadows, rocky terrain, and open spaces. It will grow to be nearly two feet high.
